Standards build strength.

Let's expertly navigate your pathway through the complexities of modern engineering.

Sage Consulting Solutions Pty Ltd

Who do I work with?

I work with a wide range of people in the engineering sector including:

Project Engineers

  • Pipeline Engineers

  • Graduate Engineers

  • Engineers new to Australia

  • Engineers new to the Pipeline Industry

Specialist Engineers

  • Mechanical Engineers

  • Process / Chemical Engineers

  • Piping Engineers

  • Civil Engineers

Scientists & Specialists

  • Materials Scientists

  • GIS Specialists

  • Project Managers

  • Technical Regulators

  • Construction Personnel

The new style modern engineering is about collaboration and community, less about calculations (though, getting those right still counts!).

Let’s engineer your future by recognizing your experiences to clarify your engineering skills in the context of capabilities and competencies.

I’ll guide you through the complexities of today's engineering landscape to find your pathway towards success.

How I can help you…

1. Academy

  • Elevate your capabilities with Susan's Pipeline Pathways program.

This program provides experienced -but-new-to-the-industry, as well as less-experienced-but-ready-to-take-on-a-pipeline-project professionals the opportunity to gain new skills in pipeline engineering, and knowledge of the pipeline Standard AS2885, to navigate the industry's challenges and opportunities.

    Next cohort starts March 2024.

  • With a structured approach to detecting and recognising competencies, I can help you get “registered” (whatever that might mean to you: CPEng, NER or P.Eng), or, just be confident and a thriving engineer through better understanding of your own knowledge, skills and experience.

    Coming soon (mid 2023)

2. Advisory

  • Unlock your potential and advance your career with the help of Susan's expertise in skills exploration and development pathways.

Her extensive experience in the industry and deep understanding of the capabilities required to make you a thriving engineer, will provide you with the guidance and support you need to achieve your professional goals.

  • Mitigate risk and protect your pipeline projects with the guidance of Susan, an industry leader in risk management, particularly pipeline risk management.

As a founder of Sage Consulting Solutions and a member of multiple industry committees, she has the knowledge and experience to help you navigate the potential hazards of pipeline construction and operation.

Trust in her expertise for all your pipeline risk management needs.

  • M.E.D.: Minimal Effective Documents.

Ensure the quality of your infrastructure engineering projects with the expert guidance of Susan.

Her extensive experience as a member of industry committees and as the founder of Sage Consulting Solutions provides her with a unique perspective on quality management and recognition of key documents.

Trust Susan to provide you with the knowledge and advice needed to meet the highest standards in the industry.

  • Trust in the expertise of Susan, one of Australia's leading authorities on Standard AS2885 and pipeline engineering.

As Chair of the AS2885 Committee and a member of Standards Australia and Engineers Australia committees, she offers unparalleled insight and advice in the industry. Consult with her for all your AS 2885 needs and ensure the success of your pipeline projects.

I think that risk, quality and competency naturally interact. The concepts are almost inseparable. Manage one well, and the others should follow. Improve one and the others naturally improve too.

I work in all pieces of the pie, through facilitation, training and coaching/mentoring programs.

So, whichever one I can help you with, the results are tripled.

About me

With over 20 years of experience in infrastructure and civil engineering, and an MBA in hand, I founded Sage Consulting Solutions Pty Ltd in 2016 to provide expert engineering consulting services to the infrastructure industries, including strategic facilitation, training in Australian Standards and business processes, as well as career coaching.

As a Fellow and CPEng(Exec) with Engineers Australia and a volunteer on various industry committees, I bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table.

When I'm not working, you can find me pushing myself to the limit in endurance running and triathlon events, having completed dozens of marathons, ultramarathons, five full Ironman triathlons, and even the 89km Comrades running event in South Africa, twice.

Next up is another ultra event of some sort (which translates at least, and probably many more than, 5 hours of exercise in one day).

Embarking on an ambitious journey, I have been undertaking a project to write exactly 100 words on an (almost) daily basis (“100WAD”) since 2019. My goal is to continually sharpen my skills and share my expertise, both within and beyond the realm of engineering. Follow my journey as I tackle the #100words challenge and uncover new insights along the way.
